My very talented neighbour, Wendy Raoux, makes the most fabulous cookies. I suppose I shouldn’t call them cookies, they are gourmet pieces of art that are pleasing to both the tummy and to the eye.
Last year I gave snowflakes to teachers, bus drivers, and coaches. Everyone who received them raved about them. This year I’ve ordered petit carrés for teachers, and macarons for my friend who is moving into a new home. I ordered early because last year Wendy stopped taking orders when she reached 2000 cookies! Many of my friends were disappointed so order soon!

For those who know what an organizational freak I am, I love to buy bins, and I love to make lists. It’s kind of embarrassing to admit but I’ve spent lots of time surfing the web for free printables. I really love the idea of Simple Mom’s Daily Docket. It helps you focus on the MITs (most important things) everyday, it reminds you to think about what’s for dinner early in the day, and there’s a spot for keeping track of how much water you drank today. Oh and it’s a to-do list too.

Pork back ribs are on sale at Loblaws this week for just $2.99/lb – perfect time to pick some up and try out this recipe.
My friend Michele emailed this recipe to me more than three years ago. She ensured me that despite the simplicity of this recipe, it will become a favourite. I’ve made it for a few friends and each of them have made this their primary way of preparing ribs.
For each full rack of pork back ribs:
Bake at 350ºF for 3 hours. Let cool for about 1 hour (otherwise they really fall apart on the BBQ). Grill on BBQ and baste with the left over sauce – I also save all the leftover sauce to serve to people for dipping. Many have found the ribs so yummy even without the BBQ step.
I love hashbrowns. There is nothing healthy about a hashbrown, but I can’t resist them. This Wednesday, get a free hashbrown at Tim Horton’s with the purchase of a breakfast sandwich between 5am and 11am.
On a related topic, McDonald’s is offering free coffee for the next couple of weeks. McDonald’s twittered this: “McD Canada is doing free coffee again (March 1-14). What’s different this time? We’re giving it away – no strings attached – ALL DAY!” Okay yes, it’s true, I don’t like coffee but I know most of you do!
